Kids Day Care

The Blue Strawberry at Cawston

The Blue Strawberry in Cawston, Rugby is a purpose-built nursery set within the grounds of Cawston Grange Primary School. It has provision for up to 24 children at any one time and cares for children between the ages of two years, nine months and 11 years.

The large, open plan classroom opens directly onto a secure playground and we are able to use the school’s superb facilities, including their canteen where our children can have lunch each day if required. You can also bring a packed lunch or if you live close by, take your child home for lunch.

Days are managed flexibly depending on the needs of each age group and the individual children within it.

We also run the Hi 5 Holiday Club and the Hi 5 After School Club here at Cawston.

A typical day…

There isn’t really such a thing as a ‘typical day’ at a Blue Strawberry nursery, except that learning and education is always underpinned by fun and games.

Outdoor play will depend on the weather but we encourage as much fresh air and physical activity as possible – this helps children to develop good physical growth, balance, co-ordination and independence.

There are always stimulating and fun curriculum activities taking place, as well as structured free choice play, singing, stories, music and movement. We also introduce our junior and pre-school children to computers and they can use software programmes that teach colour, shape and numbers.

Lunch is at 11.45am and tea time is at 4.30pm. And of course, drinks and snacks are available regularly during the day, as well as sleep and relaxation time.

We provide the following childcare sessions:

  • 8am to 6pm
  • 8am to 3.30pm
  • 8am to 12.30pm
  • 12.30pm to 6pm
  • 8.30am to 11.30am (not available for under 3 years)
  • 12.30pm to 3.30pm (not available for under 3 years)

Uniforms

We encourage pre-school children to wear a Blue Strawberry uniform. This helps to prepare them for school life and gives them a real sense of community. The uniform consists of a polo shirt for summer and a sweatshirt and fleece for winter worn with either a grey or navy blue skirt, trousers or shorts.

Girls wear navy blue tights in the winter and white socks in the summer. They can also wear red and white checked dresses in the summer if they prefer.

Pre-school children will also need a PE kit – which consists of a white t-shirt, black shorts and black pumps.

All uniform is available to buy from the office.
